Yacht description |
The
Bènèteau
Oceanis Clipper 311 was
introduced at the London Boat Show in January
1998, and features the same level of finish and
equipment as others in the "Clipper" series of
yachts. Designed by Groupe Finot, she is based
on the basic hull design of the "Figaro" racing
class, and hence offers good performance as well
as a quite luxurious standard of fit-out. Most
yachts sold were fin keel versions, the lifting
keel versions, with twin rudders being more
popular in France than in the UK. When lowered
the lift keel gives a sailing draught of 7' 1",
considerably deeper than the fin keel version of
the same boat. The toed-out twin rudders mean
that one is usually near vertical - and hence
working very efficiently whilst sailing.
